Professional and Thorough Approach to Training

We offer a professional hands on training approach of your thoroughbred. Gwenda is a highly skilled and successful trainer who has a personal bond with all her horses. She ensures that each horse is placed in the correct race so that they can perform at their best. She prefers to keep her stable to around 15 to 20 horses in work allowing her to maintain her high standard of personal attention to each individual horse.

Welfare of the Horses

Gwenda maintains and manages the care of her staff and horses, monitoring the health and fitness of all horses and providing a safe environment.

The stable’s daily routine starts at 4:30am to saddle and work horses at Echuca Race Course. We feed, walk, hose, and groom all the horses in our stables. We maintain the grounds and horses. We regularly call upon Farriers and vets. We finish the day by feeding, walking and rugging all the horses.

We use Golburn Valley Equine vets from Shepperton who attend our stables twice a week, our dentist attends regularly and our farrier attends the stables three times a week.

Owner Community

At Gwenda Johnstone Racing our owners are important to us and we encourage owner involvement with their race horse. We aim to service our owners with up to date information on their horse and welcome all enquiries. Owners are provided with regular horse reports and are also kept up to date with racing nominations and acceptances, race results and latest stable news.
